Research Experience

Undergraduate Thesis: Characterization of Somatic Embryogenesis Receptor-like Kinase (SERK) in Finger Millet (E. coracana)

I conducted an independent research project aiming to improve tissue-culture responsiveness in Finger Millet by studying key morphogenic genes. My responsibilities included:

  • Designing and performing plant tissue culture assays

  • Enhancing callus induction and regeneration efficiency

  • Analyzing gene-expression patterns related to SERK

  • Presenting findings to faculty and peers

  • Maintaining detailed lab notes and reproducible workflows

This project strengthened both my scientific rigor and my ability to translate research insights into clear, actionable conclusions.
